Almost all apartment rentals will require you to fill out an application. The application will have several different parts and it’s important to fill it out completely so your application won’t be denied. Typically, they will want to see your last pay stubs to make sure you’re employed and make as much money as you say you do. Typically, landlords will only accept tenants that the rental price is 30% or less of their income. If you don’t have pay stubs if you are free-lance or own your own company, bank statements would suffice. Proof of identification such as a driver’s license, state ID or passport in addition to your social security card. Most applications will ask your previous rental history, so make sure you have your last addresses easily accessible. Lastly, make sure you bring your checkbook so you can pay for the application fee and or deposit.
